TRE can calculate the path from point to point, including an arbitrary number of via points, or from one point to many to efficiently calculate a distance matrix to support for example the choice of stop (public transport), loading place (goods) etc.

TRE can calculate the best path based on data from OpenStreetMap (OSM) data, shape files, or via a conversion routine from NVDB (national road database) in Sweden and Norway and Digiroad in Finland. Custom converters can be created for most other data sources that meet the basic requirements for routing.

Further, TRE has the capability of merging datasets from different sources in to a common dataset and route across borders.

The routing result contains information about distance and travel time, geometry of the suggested route, and driving instructions - information that can be combined with your additional business information or presented in a map. Integrating TRE into your system brings you opportunities for more efficient transports through cost and time savings, reduced environmental footprint, improved planning capabilities including delivery precision and information.

TRE has great flexibility to adopt to customer specific rules and integration to third party components for i.e. road closures, traffic messages, toll station fees and different filters. You define the rule set and TRE calculates the routes. TRE can also include different information from the dataset in the calculated result, for example information about speed limits, height restrictions, toll stations etc. that are passed along the suggested route.
